I nosed in my first ever backflip attempt. I got tired of watching Ross, Eddie, Ryan and JK have all the fun, and just went for it. (although I've pancaked a few since then  )

Joe is right, it's all about commitment. Well that and timing.

I think all you fockers attempting backflips should use the yamasaki method...

State at the beginning of the ride.. "If I don't pull off a backflip today... everyone of you fockers can hit me square in my face!"

On the last ride of the day... and on video.... he landed the thing and has never looked back!

I know Slut and myself were REALLY hoping he didn't land it so we could have some fun at the camp site during a heavy drunk! :haha:

I tried a BF once in the surf...the power was there, the wave was right...and I did not look back for the landing. Went up pretty high I was told, but the rotation was not there. Landed upside down & the bars jabbed me in the 'lower' waist area and I did not try again since. I need some health ins. :banghead: and I just need to ride surf more often, this 2 days a month thing ain't workin to well.
I'll try some at Lanier though. :woot:

Well, my balls are big for the backflip, its the barrel roll I am worried about.
I already made a vow to myself that I WILL have a helmet the first ride on the square this season, and if I find a nice wake, I WILL attempt to backflip it, and probably will pancake em all. I say I have the balls now, we'll wait and see when we get out there. It's like everything else, if you keep thinking about it as you are going to do it, then you wont do it. You'll sit there ready to do it but then catching yourself, but if you go for it, all it takes is that one little second where you go for it, and then you can't look back, it's all happening from there. (Except in this case, you DO look back to make the flip...). I say this now, but we'll see when I actually get out there haha. But I do want to try to backflip when I get out there, and I am really excited just typing about it. But I wont do it without a helmet.

Butti, I think we should start a pact that by the next Daytona Freeride in the Fall that we all get backflips going. Anyone else want to join the wannabe backflip pact? IDOK? WAB? It might be a good idea to make sure our health insurance is paid up just incase.

good idea! thats the kind of motivation i need!:poke:

how about you and me bf the x2 and the camo ski side by side at next daytona ride!

Hey, kawi06.
What happened to you ???

Waves were somewhat decent so I tried my first BF today.

Landed flat on my back with the ski right on top, the pole tried to do a number on my leg (should have a nice bruise), and than the ski pushed me into the sand on the bottom.
I guess not enough speed or wave but it was cool.:woot:

After that I did a nose stab and almost broke my pole but lucky for me just the chin pad came off and the handle bars have a bit of a wobble.
I guess we should look for deeper water.

no one else caught that????

you are trying to tell us you attempted a BF in 2ft of water???? How big was the wave??? Either you are full of it, or you are completely retarded.

We don't have the luxury of nice sets.
The only decent shape waves are on the edge of a sand bar where the water is about waste deep after the wave.

The wave was small so there was never a fear of big air, that's why I wasn't too worried about hitting the sand hard.

At least I had fun, considering that the Gulf is flat except for the odd Hurricane.

I got my first ski (JS 300) last June.
Rebuilt it and started riding in mid July.
Bought a Superjet in August.
Broke my foot in September attempting a backflip without footholds.
Rode for another hour on broken foot! ( I just got here damn it! )

And the moral of the story is.......
Lock In !!!!!!!!
