Are 61X and 64U heads identical?

I could not tell a bit of difference, 64U comes on the 62T motors w/ 61X cylenders. I have a 64U on a 61X motor.

64u has carb support bosses (ears for support bracket) 61x doesnot

Just make sure you use the right headgasket. There's 2 part #'s from Yamaha as the cooling holes in the gasket were relocated for the new support bridges in the newer head design...
