Well, the only thing foolish about riding on april fools day was the 5 of us in this ice cold water. However, it was well worth it, and I rode my superjet all day. Rode for 3.5-4 hours I'd say. I had to wear 2 wetsuits, 2 pairs of gloves, and neoprene socks with my wrestling boots, and a tour coat, but it was sweet.

edit. Im making stupid faces. dont ask why, it was freezing and I was happy to get out and ride. hahaha

it was flat water all day but towards the end we got about 20 mph winds and just enough wave action to have a bit more fun, and my buddy wayne got to break in his new sxr.

Dont forget, alex was there on his couch taking pictures since his SJ is out of comission. We launched from brandenburg, next time we ride it might be from the DNR launch on anchor bay drive and ride over to my cottage. Not sure yet. damn snow...

You guys are nuts. That water can't be more than 40-45 F and thats being generous. Last Sunday there was still a good 4-6 of solid ice on Silver Lake in Traverse City.

helmets make all the difference in cold weather, not to mention the safety factor...

looks cooooold..

Ewok and I on the way to the beach called the surf report...they said 4-6 and glassy, epic..dont miss it!!!!!

Oh yea, the water going into the St. Clair river is about 33 degrees, I dont know if it'd warm up much by the time it got there so you guys are crazy for being in wet suits.

haha.
I was wearing jeans and jacket.
Not that I was going to get wet anyways...
I still had my heat the whole way home, and I was the COUCH.

The cute girls at subway must have though I was nuts with my soaking wet jeans, three sweatshirts on with a snow hat and my hood on...
or maybe it was just the crocs that were getting me the weird looks.
