Would you consider the Tile for a $20 purchase price and no annual fee? It's only good for a year so it would match your need perfectly.

Apples and oranges. You're talking about a $20 device with no maintence fee and doesn't have to be charges that you hope gets within 150' of another user before your ski is stripped and sold. A false sense of security mostly.

I'm talking about a $100 device that costs $6/mo, that has to be charges, that has a phone app, that the moment you hit track, it drops a GPS pin every 30 seconds to its location. You can hit track while you sleep in your hotel and if your ski gets stolen you will have a text message bread trail of locations and can watch the GPS pins on google maps.

So, if my hope was to recover a stolen ski, I wouldn't put my faith into a trinket for finding lost keys.

Edit: yes, for $20 I may get one and stick it on my ski, but I also bought rustolium neverwet just to try it, and that was garbage too.

I meant for your dog silly. ;)

I think we can all agree that these are not the ticket for tracking a ski.

I don't know.....if enough users get it and it becomes really popular it could eventually work for skis. Initially there is not way it would work.

I just would think most skis would go to a chop shop. Not just slap on a fake hin. Maybe you'll get lucky and the thieves will be dumb enough to lose their keys and need one too.
