Talking to a friend today. I was wondering if anyone runs those 5 degree up nozzles for their 155 pump?

I'm small (145lbs) and didn't know if I could get away with running one. It'll have trim on top of that...

Flat water ski only.

For as cheap as the nozzles are and how well they hold resale value I would recommend trying both and sell the one you dont like as much for your setup. Only takes minutes to swap at the lake. Its really a no brainier.

Alot depends on the hull/ski setup. I tested the 148 5 deg yamaha nozzle on my KDX and really really did not like it. It felt like it turned my ski into a chit hull like the rip/bob. I also ran a 5 deg Sato Engineering nozzle on my shortened RNSJ years ago and I was in love with it.

Agreed. Run both and see what u like. I ran this one the first time and hated it. Could not ride away from any tricks wasnt sure i made the right decision changing hulls either. Stuck with it for 4 rides and something clicked. Took my riding to the next level. More air. Dont really use trim for much now. I finally understand why most pros when u pull their trim handle there is nothing there. Mine used to be 20 deg. Hell i was the guy that invented the extended reach trim handles. Want to buy one? I would not run one now if you paid me. Lol

Perfect. Thanks.
Sounds like it could be good for thrust trim. My xs has a ton of throw.
What's the biggest you could bore it?

I have mine bored to 90.35mm and as you can see it's thin but working great on my KDX. Also notice the oem trim ring with built-in flow guard and a homemade SS bracket for smooth connection. With the upturn nozzle the oem ring pulls plenty of trim and offers a smooth turning, trouble free flow guard.

I saw this in another thread.. I like your thinking. little/no grinding. Using the stock flow guard and that XS cable holder. Does the stock flow guard work good with more throw steering set ups? also, with your home made bracket, does it pull the same as XS?

Pulls trim easy but not as high of trim as the XS, but you don't need it with the upturn nozzle. Flow guard works well with steering mod. I'm happy with the setup.
