unless you figure out how to fab a oneway check valve inline from your exzost... then NO.. you should keep the box in there!

why not? the water shouldnt go above the bondline and the exhaust tube runs above that.

the only reason i can guess, not to, is noise. pissing people off with loud jetskis only gets "the sport" more frowned upon, says the guys with the tdr waterbox.

:haha:

You probably have a 'perceived power increase' from the louder sound, not a real increase. Kinda like when people put premium in their cars that only require regular, they think there was because they were expecting an increase, but in reality nothing changed.

Louder is not better in most areas, though in some it doesn't matter.

brraap....thats so 2002
your gain from an aftermarket water box is roughly 0% taking it out goes towards the negitive gain, if your running the oem exhaust and you change that out to something like a b-pipe your gain is a lot higher...........any pipe is better than the brick the skis come with.

well, the checkvalve idea shouldnt matter because the water will only go as high as the water level is.
i did have a lot of gains. i have a stock pipe and i got a lot more low end and gained 9-10mph i shlt you not:biggthumpup: . sounds crazy but i have been riding it like this for maybe 20hrs
all my guys i ride with noticed a diff and i clocked it with the same ski a million times before and after
it is loud (not too bad) but i live in florida and ride in the gulf
i dunno thanks for the help, if you guys try it out let me know lol
i might put it back in, it runs great without it :Banane01:
im not sure about the regulations either though

9 to 10 mph..............you should call factory pipe i think a b-pipe on a stock ski only got 4 mph.

I pulled the water box out of a monster 650 It had porting, a pipe, 230 psi compression, about everythgin you could think of and it was a screaming demon. We took the water box out just playing around and it actually had less low end punch. That ski would eat everythign on the lake untill the water box removal then the other skis would pull it off of the line then the top speed was awsome It might have gained 4 to 6 MPH. I know that it was a scary ride but the low end suffered a ton. It would peg the rev limiter after the waterbox removal.

We ride on a small lake with a ton of cabins around and there has never been water patrol on the lake untill the 3 week with no water box. We were escorted off of the water and told that the ski better not ever touch the water sounding like that again. IT was very loud up at the cabin you couldn't hear yourself talk when the ski was close by and the cabin isn't right on the water

gotcha bitch!
if you gained that much without the waterbox, did it ever cross your mind that the waterbox may be f'd up. I bet there is a litter of dead kittens in there.

I was thinking the same thing..

My neigbor just blew his waterbox two weeks, ago, took it in to get the box welded, did a pressure test on it, and it was leaking in three other places.

He has been sucking exhaust fumes for god knows how long...:smoker:
