Just wondered, they seem to get such a bad reputation among stand up riders. But.... I did see one kick arse at Scooteney this year and competed in 3 classes: standup, RA, and sport. I believe it was stock.

jason stoyer, rob pillus, and pat bogart did an exhibition together once for the 3d in orlando.. i got to film it... it was a weird day.. i should dig up the footage..

didn't Pat bling his out to the hilt with custom XM shizz and even ended up BR'ing that Mofo by the end of the stint? :cool2:

Ummm..I know a guy that knows a guy that heard from... awww hell never mind I will just man up and say I tried it. All you guys can start flaming away I am pretty thick skinned I can take it.

Anyhow my review - in standup mode it is a freekin riot that they would call that a standup. If you turfed the floor of a john boat you could call that a standup. Same principal. The monster was right down HUGE.

But in cart mode with the seat flat on the water it was pretty fun. I would own one if you could ride 2 up on them while in cart mode. It would be a great way to take littel ones riding. Like my one year old he wouldn't have to sit on the seat he would be between my legs I would feel a little safer with him on there.

And with the little fold down seat that is a joke also it is kinda like a sitdown that you can put a lot of body english into around corners. Which would be ok if the hull wasn't so HUGE.

But on the brighter note they can sink pretty fast. In stadnup mode throw the pole all the way up walk up on the hood and hold it WOT IT powers its self all the way under A sub if you will and it only takes a few seconds untill thing is so full of water that it won't hardly float. I almost hydrolocked it and was only on it for maybe a minute

I work at a seadoo dealer and have ridden them many times. The only thing that it has in common with my superjet is that you stand up. Put it this way...I did everything i could to get it out of the water with no luck. Even cranking all 800ccs back to my own turn wake i couldnt get it airborn. Absolutely terrible ride. The owner vowed to never order another 3d again after we sold 2 in 2 years a 150 other seadoos.

I stood on one at a boat show, solid as a rock.
I was told this is the same experience as having one in the water!:banghead:

Dude, I rode one in Cleveland. You could walk around in circles on it without it running and it still won't flip over. 10X worse than I imagined. No power and it will not get airborn.

Rick rode it and his girlfriend said, and I quote, "Rick, don't ever do that again. Your embarrasing me." Cool girlfriend. :cheer:

I'll fess up - I rode one summer before last when we were shooting the Xtreme TV crossover challenge at Folson Lake. I was hired to do water safety and set up the course, and Victor insisted I take one for a spin.

I was laughing so hard I almost cried....and you can actaully see me giggling my backside off when I lead the three competitors on the course marshal boat into the first turn in their televised race.....one word comes to mind having ridden this ski =

TURD

Of course, I got Sheldon to d a leg drag on it, which was hilarious for some rason - but now I can't find the freakin' picture =(

I chased one on Beaver lake Arkansas last year.

rough water, busy weekend, wife made me let up after a full minute or so of 48+ mph through the chop in a 19 ft skiboat.

i THINK I could have caught it, if I had dogged the boat, and not had wife and kids in there.

I was impressed with its rough water straight line speed, but I guess any larger sitdown will go nearly 50 in rough water...?

( none of my junk will)

Yep, I actually rode one last year in Michigan. If I had kown they were going to become such sordid infamous P.O.S. skis, I would have REALLY tortured the damn thing!!!
This is how I became so lucky:
Here I am minding my own business on Mona Lake in Muskegon (Pardon me Norton Shores)...trying to learn how to ride my first (and newly acquired) standup (91 Kawi 650SX) and these dudes show up with 2 of them, they take them out for a ride, come back and spot me, obviously having a tough time getting up on plane with my 650..........one of them says to me:
"hey, yacht try one of these"...so I took him up on it............B-O-R-I-N-G! (that's why I got a standup after many years of GP1200 riding)
I can sum it up with this: it was like riding a garage door with a motor on the back of it!:banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

I tested one at the Hotwater Tour this year in Deerfield ( Region 7 Fl). I couldnt stop smiling when I was testing it. I felt like a clown on that thing...ya, even more of a clown than I usual!
