Hmm, does your enclosure fog up or get moisture in it at all? I would think it would work like leaving your hood on. Evertything condensates, parts rust blah blah. I like leaving my hood off all the time in the garage, brain in the open to dry out...

sometimes my enclsure does get a mist in it (leaks past the cover seal)- but the whole wiring set up was soldered then heatshrunk as though it would have been exposed.

When i occasionally see any moisture its simply 4 x quick release screws and the lid is loossened - I leave it a couple of days and refit. Much better than the guesswork with the standard Yammy crap.

Here is what I have so far. Still have to make a ground post and organize the wiring. That is one of Shifty's Total Loss start/stop relays above the solenoid so I don't need a toggle switch to turn on off the TL.

I should have taken a pic of the empty plate as all material from behind the coils and brain has also been removed to make it lighter. I milled it from 3/16 extruded aluminum plate.

MSD TL mounted in my Power Factor / RRP sealed box... I did the install and wiring, even added a hr meter.... I ride surf 90% of the time, has not leaked or fogged up.... Its the only way to go

Mcmaster has a ton of different boxes, i ordered a bunch and picked the one that fit the best and returned the rest. We put a silica packet in the box to absorb any moisture and it worked great in daytona.

Did you buy just the box? Can you order it from RRP? He could make a killing if he started slinging these boxes.

I bought mine from Thrust, he has them in stock.... Box fits perfect, seals well, aaa+++ deal...

I ran msd TL in my old LPW superjet 100% saltwater, it's okay but you gotta have the installl perfect and keep things in top notch shape...

Some TL installs you wonder how it even runs...

does it come with all the rubber seals and stuff, also how hard is it to actually setup the total loss?

It takes about 6 hrs to correctly wire MSD TL and another 1 hr to time/install plate, FW, etc...and That's if you have done a few, there's a lot of little things you do when installing it that makes everything last... From the pickup plate all the way to connections and how you ground the coils, etc... There's a reason guys charge big bucks to wire these up correctly ...

Heres a pic of how I do my pickup plates... I drill 3/32 holes (2) to hold the pick wires secure, I also use heat shrink everywhere, 2nd I take some gasket maker/ or other and go around the wires going into the pickup so you don't get broken pickup wires from vibrations...

Also the shifty mod is wonderful... Makes the msd TL operate like stock electrics, no on off switch, etc... Pull the lanyard kills power to the msd unit...
