Anyone ever cut the nose of their SJ?

Just curious on this one.... I definately plan to hack off a few inches from the rear of my SN but wondering if anyone has hacked off the nose as well.

I was thinking a shorter/broader nose cut back 3-4 inches would allow more control of the nose. I was also thinking it wouldn't scoop water quite as much either.

This may be completely half baked but thought I'd throw the idea out there and see what people think.

5 inches and retain the stock location? :pokey:

I would think to pull that much you'd have to fiberglass in a new bracket location which might not be a bad idea considering I don't have a welder.

actually, that bracket idea is gonna be one of my next projects (provided someone here doesnt read this and steal it from me) :)
It will be modeled off the Rickter boat and move the pivot point forward. with the right design, it can still be mounted to the stock holes.

My new RN topdecks let you mount the pole further fwd if you want to. My handlepole brakets are also available for even further fwd mounting, while getting the pole over an inch lower than stock.
