Any vids of tiny hull...

Got me thinking though....771 ported with TL and a PFP....still cheaper than a hull and pretty reliable! TL scares me though....I have seen to many people get rid of it....

I am going to a ported 771 at some point though.
I support this idea

How tall are you? You only weigh 165!?
....
actually less than that now but 5'10"

Ya I got rid of the TL because too much of a pain. Are the pfp just for even bigger setups or you can pop that on a mild ported stock crank?

Well Will (ADDict) just told me about Jetmaniacs/Blues 780 motor that runs 220psi on pump gas! So maybe that with their carbs and a PFP?? Keep the MSD? I don't know but I know I am craving more!!!

Anyone know what the lightest a "big" hull can weigh in at? Like a full carbon WDK Envy?

I really just want my hull...I LOVE it..and I love full size gas tanks! But I can't help but wonder what it would be like if it was 30lbs. lighter?

And NO! I can't lose any more weight...I would be a frigging anorexic twig if I could even get to 160lbs!

Remember you can't run oem tank with the pfp.

I hear ya man.....but that would be full carbon and $$$$...and can carbon then go out and get beat to death in waves and thrown away and treated like chit...and last?

i went through this dilema last winter... smaller, lighter hull with my ported 760 or keep my -2" 2008 superjet and go wtih a bigger motor. I ended up building a ported DASA 850PV, MSD enhancer, new intake, carbs, and Power Factor... strong motor, killer in surf... really does rip pretty good. but at the end of the day, I'm still on a superjet.

In retrospect, I should have kept my old motor and bought a small hull.

next winter my superjet hull is going up for sale and I am buying either a KDX, Footrocket or Q8. Nice thing is, at least I'll already have a nice motor for it...

I have to add my two cents if you guys don't mind :) i never wanted to build a flatwater or small surf boat but decided to in my FPx which is 100mm shorter than my surf boats its a cross over between a flat water and a surf hull. like most flat water hulls which are short and had no chines they handle bad at speed which i believe you need a lot more speed when in the surf to move around an in position, the pics and video is stock ignition 148 12 vein 980 dasa with stock lightened flywheel , for flat water you just adjust the pole and change the bars you could run rise up but suck on flat , great for surf ..its a great ski in the surf , the only down side is because like all short hulls the shorter and wider they go the harder they are to land tricks and ride away and generally ride waves, but easy to spin and flick around pro's and cons. I suppose there will always be the old saying big motor small ski for flat and 1-2 foot surf (760 and longer heavier ski for 2-6 foot surf ) one size does not fit all and people that say so are crazy watching the last IFWA events whatching every second trick not landed is just a result of short flat water ski's in surf events , if you had the money to run both then thats always best but most of us don't ... Jump on it has it in one also mainly depends where you ride ..one day i will have my 2 boats LOL
My FPX has full 20 litre tank in it and motor runs in the stock position - one day i will try and get my ski;s to USA

Jetski Utopia: Own 2 skis...

#1) trick specific lightweight hull for flatwater.

#2) full size surf hull with ported 701 and trim.

That's what I am doing... Still thinking a modular hull idea will work... If I were a hull maker that's the direction I would be going. Bolt on a TRUE hull extension / tubbies for surf take off for flat. Nice write up Shark.
