Two more things of note , most commercial penetrating oils I have used are garbage WD40 , PB Blaster, Liquid wrench , freeze off etc ,etc , the one standout exception is Kroil , I have recently seen it in places such as Advance auto , you can get it off of Amazon also of course.
If you don't want to wait though the next best thing is a 50/50 mixture of Acetone and ATF , it works like magic.

I have had good luck with PB Blaster. Others you mentioned, waste of time. I have something a buddy gave me that smells like pine tar (Maybe its Kroil)..

Pump down, shaft up. Heat up the coupler. Fill up the coupler with PB Blaster (I will buy some Kroil per WFO's suggestion).
Let it cool.
Do it again.
I did it three times.
Got frustrated and went to bed.
Then the next morning it took very little effort to break it free.
Amazing.

kROIL is professional grade stuff and up until a few tears ago was very hard to source locally . One other oil you don't hear a lot about anymore that is used as penetrating oil is wintergreen oil, it is the component in Marvel Mystery oil that give It that wonderful smell , but a lot of old tractor guys still use it to this day. It's wicking and wetting properties are supposed to be quite superior .

Look on the bright side, dump that pump and get the bigger 144, isn't that a 140 stock in there?
Actually it’s a 122 stock. A 140 is a massive improvement.

I completely agree, but that’s also more $$$ haha this FX-1 isn’t a performance project though, it’s actually a beater ski. But still a 144 is likely going to be the “fix”
I have a box full of take off FX-1 parts from when I built the custom “FX-2” and I also have an old broken hull… so I’m going to put it all together and have another stock/junky beater for friends to ride.

Weld a big a$$ nut onto that impeller and screw it off then cut the nut back off .
One other random thought I had on this .
I know how the tools are supposed to work but what if you could secure the impeller down to the workbench with a large rachet strap like truckers use and a couple of wooden blocks or possibly wrapping the strap completely around the impeller , then use the driveshaft spline tool on the end of the driveshaft with a breaker bar and a piece of pipe as a cheater bar to remove the impeller ?
The driveshaft should be able to resist that kind of twisting motion , in theory at least.
I used a similar method to remove a PTO flywheel on a Seadoo 787 recently and they are on there pretty good , very similar to the forces that tighten the impeller onto the driveshaft.

I have a huge exhaust fan at the shop and had to buy a rather expensive 220 motor for it , the pully on the old motor had a set screw that was stuck pretty good , the guys at M&M eclectic motor reached for a can of kroil , sprayed it waited a minute and it came right off, I have been sold on it ever since. .
