My square was leaning to the right at a pretty good angle. At night I would notice a small amount of water would drip out from around the exhaust. I pulled the factory exhaust pipe out and noticed the seal around the flange was gone. I tried to use a hair dryer for a couple of days to dry out the foam. I then reinstalled the pipe with some 5200 and I thought it was good.
The last time we had it out it was at about a 20 degree right tilt. I pulled the factory exhaust back out today and when I broke the seal of 5200, water started running out. I have collected about a quart of water from it dripping now. I have butchered some of the foam and it seams like it is waterlogged about 1" deep around the top half of the exhaust tube. The bottom half if dry.
Here is my question. I am planning on going to front only exhaust. I am going to make a long wire wheel to take out all the foam on the right side. Then make an aluminum plate to block off the rear of the ski and stand it on its tail. Then pour in new foam from the engine side. What do you think?
Also I filled the tray up with dyed water for 3 hours and could not find any signs that it is leaking water. If the exhaust seal was bad could it wet the foam all the way to the bulkhead?
Any ideas, tips, suggestions...
