Wow, was I thrilled when I saw this! But there's not too many posts in here, eh?

Well, here's my 2003 Octane. Bone stock, as far as I know. Got it for $3200 from the original owner in Montana. Supposedly low hours, but you wouldn't know it from looking at the bottom! Kinda beat.

Took it to Florida last month and had a blast! Launched at a bunch of places around Fort Lauderdale, Miami and Key Largo. Of course, the CDI took a dive on me on the 3rd ride, but Randy at Watcon troubleshot it over the phone with me, and had a CDI to me in 15 hours!

I have no idea why the original owner peeled off all the stickers except "LARI", but anyways, now we call it Larry.

I'm looking for some graphics to replace the missing stockers; original Polaris graphics are almost $600! Thinking about painting it yellow, since the red isn't by any means perfect, and everything I own eventually gets painted yellow anyways....

Any suggestions would be welcome.

Michael

Thats why it was running so funny... luckily you didnt sink THAT ski. :silly:

Meh, that's exactly what sunk Butch's ski. Stuck/f'd up scupper.

Not my fault, is it? :smashfreakB:

Yes, footholds are planned, in combination with new Hydroturf, as the current stuff is shot.

But more importantly, I need to address the motor. Wow is this thing a bear to start! Takes 3 hands. Also, the off-idle carburetion (if you can call it that when there's no idle to begin with!) is terrible. Randy says this is all easily addressed.

The ski also seems "darty" at high speed, is this normal? Not exactly confidence inspiring at high speeds! And I'm coming from riding a JS550, so I know darty when I ride it!

I understand that a new rideplate will help this. Any suggestions on a replacement? Mine still has the fiberglass one on there! I wonder why Polaris went that route?

The stock carbs can be made to run better (Randy can help) but never perfect. Consider going to a Mikuni setup or possibly 42 Keihins.

My first stand up was an 03' that I got from a friend for $1,500. My gf rides it now that I built the free style ski. Watcon- Randy has tons of stuff for the Octane and really knows his shiI ab them. My gf loves it, very sturdy and fast. She was jumping really well in Daytona and Pensacola.
