I didnt plan to pull the motor this winter, but...
while trying to shoehorn a bilge pump into my 750sx, I noticed this:frown:
one tooth of the coupler on the motor side is gone  and there is no rubber in the big gap.
no idea how long it was run like that
any way this can be fixed without pulling the motor?
thanks!

At the very least you will have to slide it forward off of its mounts and slip a new rubber thingy in there.

It shouldn't be a big deal... Take motor mount bolts out, slide engine forward. Put rope down the spark plug hole to keep the engine from turning over. Either get the correct coupler wrench or use a piece of wood or the like and spin coupler off. Replace. Done.

Yup, looks like that motor is comin out! If you want to come down this way to look at a superjet and ride, wakeboard, etc, then head down and we will have that thing fixed up in no time! I even have a billet engine side coupler for that motor! Let me know -Kurt

Yup same thing happened to my 650sx a total of two hours I would have to say. We didn't even have to take the motor out just unbolted the exhaust tube to let the engine move far enough forward.

nothin intentional. we made sorta plans yesterday and didnt finalize til 9 oclock this a.m. and I was on the road.
met over at Chris's, pulled the motor, wrestled off the coupling (that was a job!) scrounged up a replacement and got it all back together.
all work and no play so you didnt miss anything much
