aluminum guide tubes

Where do you get those aluminum guide tubes/rods, for the steering cable and such, that run under the tray? I tore all mine up defoaming

check a hobby supply or home depot make sure you get stainless/alum so no rust. maybe small plastic pvc could work

The steering cable tube is PVC. The cooling and bilge lines are aluminum.

Toilet supply tubes work perfectly and cost $3 at Lowes or Home Depot... I used it for a trim line in my 750 and just put one in the SJ in case I decide to install trim.

except those lines arent stainless. they are plated steel. i looked into those when i was drilling a dual cooling line through my hull.

i dont think it would last a season in salt water for me.

The OEM PVC steering cable tube has a funny bend in it that may be hard to duplicate. Maybe Yamaha sells that tube?

I've been trying to order new tubes through McMaster carr and can't seem to nail down the correct size. I've got the McMaster carr part # thread saved and just reviewed it. I can't seem to find the correct diameter tube. I measure approx. 3/8" OD with 5/16" ID. McMaster sells a 3/8 ID and a 1/4 ID. My ski's last owner installed similar tubes with a threaded end and a butted fitting on one end to allow pressure fitting between the bulkhead and outer wall of pump housing. See pics. I like that idea, but can't find anything like that on McMaster. What diameter are you guys using for unthreaded tubes and is everyone just using 5200 to secure/water proof? These are not exactly cheap (aluminum)! I need 4 tubes...20" length. 72" is around $50 and will still need another tube 36" is around $20. I can't stomach $70 for this sheeot!!! I may look at copper too.

I bought a 20ft roll of 3/8 ID stainless off ebay , like this. Works GREAT.

OK that says 3/8 OD, but it will work. Now that I think about it mine is 3/8OD.

They are chrome coated copper tubing. I've used them for trim tubes also. I dont know how copper does in the in salt water though, I ride mostly fresh water.

Ya, you can get alum alum tubing at our Home Depot and prolly Lowes too.
