Alright I admit - 61X cylinders need girdle kits

ehh....not sure what happened......I did back off the one bolt a little so you could see in the pic that it was loose but it did come loose by itself. Not sure why the carb bolts came loose......you would think I would have noticed sooner than I did....but It happened all at once.

I guess this is a great time for some motor updates

they way i see it....girdled head is a 300 insurance policy. has anybody that has a correctly torqued ada girdled head ever had a cylinder crack at the base....that is what i wanna know. i wouldnt be surprised if that bolt was pulled out instead of backing out....have heard of it happening before.

I took it all apart....most of the bolts holding the jugs down took very little effort to remove....I guess next time I will use locktight:banghead:

on the back of jb weld is says,

so if it worked for a catepillar engine why not your 61x right.
