Super Jet AirTime epic hx3 broken?

Hello, I comment. 2 years ago I used the electronic ignition of airtime and it worked well until one day, the engine did not start any more

Check stator coils and these are good. When I hit the start button, the spark starts after 2 seconds and this is very weak.

Then change the electronic ignition by the original yamaha and the engine will start. Any idea what might happen?

stator coil : 600 ohm
captor coil : 16ohm
charge coil : 1.5 ohm

ht coil : 4.5 kohm

Those ohm readings are good, however the "ht" coil might still be bad- I have had that happen before...... Also, you might check the brown wire to ground ac voltage while cranking, should be about 20-30 V AC depending on cranking speed. A malfunctioning start / stop switch could also cause a problem.
However, since it will run with stock ignition - the ATP unit might be at fault.

Two of your readings are out of specification, these are the ranges:
Pulser coil 12.6 - 15.4 Ohms. I had one that wouldn't rev pass 4000rpm with a 15.6 reading
Charge coil 497.7 - 608.3 Ohms
Lighting coil 1.14 - 1.40 Ohms

That ignition is sketchy. They pulled it off the market...

I really wonder why ALL aftermarket ignitions for the 61x/62t are sketchy?
Some electrical engineer on this site should be able to explain that. I can't believe it is all poor quality capacitors or diodes. even Vilders eventually died. (heat?)

Also - in saying that why cant the systems be designed like the MSD Enhancer (fixed curve) but continue to retard down?
Nice low end timing and continue to be retarded down to something like 12 at 7700? must be a technical reason
(Kawaski style or 760 style it is NO issue to do that)

The atp is different than msd because it has both analog and digital components. More complex design.

Grounding issues kill a/m cdis too. Need to run an extra wire for that. I am doing exactly that this year even though I've had good luck with my msd enhancer.

I agree there should be a new ignition that offers timing retard above 7k. I wonder if you could wire in an msd boost timing retard module along with an enhancer somehow....

has anyone had good luck with the advent ignition? Have they made any improvements?

Thanks for the answers. I am sure that the cdi has problems in some diode, capacitor or the thyristor. I'm going to disarm it with lots of love and I promise photos .... I honestly do not understand how they manufacture products that last so little. My previous cdi msd use it for 7 years and I sold it to buy atp

Their total loss system is pretty reliable, know a few riders who swear by it.

Not sure what the deal was with the epic. I had one go bad as well after a few months of use.
