i seen a waterbox install backwards and it made the ski bog when turned on its side, it would clear out then run fine unless you fell in on the exhaust side.

The RN waterboxes can be a little confusing and I hooked mine up wrong but luckily the previous guy labeled the inlet and outlet for me. Would the baffles in the RN waterbox make a difference?

The tank does pressurize. It has a one way valve to let air in, not out. I depressurized it at the time just to be sure though. The waterbox is defitinely hooked up right.

I really appreciate everyone's ideas. Keep them coming. I'll take all the help I can get. It has to be somethin g so someone's idea is right.

If I were you, at this point I would completely disassemble the motor and inspect every component. Then new gaskets and reassemble everything to spec.

My buddy installed a new hot rods crank last season. By the third tank he started hearing this clicking sound. The engine turned over smoothly but if you payed special attention you could hear a faint click at a certain point of the revolution. Turned out the crank threw a ball out of the bearing race. He had to replace all damaged parts but hot rods refunded him for the crank. He then had it rebuilt and crank works.

I would check the cooling system just because it is something to check, it may be all good but you are a little stumped as to why it is doing what it is doing. The tear down is a good idea if you do think that there is something wrong in the bottom end and will cost not to much to re assemble if everything checks out. Testing to see if there are any leaks any where before you break down the motor will make sure that you don't somehow miss a problem. testing after you re assemble and you get the same results will let you know if there was any change in the motor from before to after. i don't know, i just like to check things i guess. Your sure about your carbs not having water in them or a plugged jet or leaky carb gasket? man i haven't had my ski stump me in a while but i know my ski in and out. it sure is tough to figure out someone elses ski over the internet sometimes. any new progress today?

I won't get a chance to mess with it again until friday. I will keep the thread up to date as I get more data.

I would say it's impossible to figure out someone's ski without having it. There are so many possibilities for screw ups. Thanks for all the ideas.

Put it all back together with new fuel filter and colored fuel line and it ran fine for 3/4 tank of gas. Still seems to make a strange noise but maybe it's normal. So far so good. Go figure. The carb seems a little muddy on the first 1/3 throttle so I'm going to switch back to Art's original spring recommendation for the Blackjacks.

I am running that crap "Fuel line bix", I was noticing some slight runaways the last time I rode (Last Wed), Not sure if it was because I was low on gas or if they were sucking air............
Good deal
