thats why and, you CANT get 5hp from 120 volts.
(120 volts) x (20 amps) x ( motor effecniency theoretical 100%)
divided by 746 to find HP
that gives you 3.2 HP with a 100% effecient motor.
most high dollar motors are 92 percent.
220x20x1
divided by 746
gives 5.2HP
220 is BETTER.
and the motor ratings are BS.
