99 sxi pro wobbly ride ?

hey guys ... used to ride a 91 650 sx with westcoast pipe alluminum fly etc etc .. fast ski for what it was .. and I could ride it fairly well ( no pro LOL)
but I could do a 360 tray turn , jump and side slip and carve as well as it would allow .. now this 99 sxi is just squirly compared to it .. It does crave perfectly , and can sub no probs .. but man its like so damn sqiurly ... it has footholds , and home made tubbies on the sides ? just flat plexiglass it looks to me ... I already took the hull ext off since I only weigh about 175 ...oh yea just put in a fact wet pipe .. now its got too much power for me lol .. I actually may put the stock pipe back in untill I get used to it a bit longer ..
cant realy keep it at wot .. on flat water anyways ,, that damn concave hull likes to grab on one side and if I over correct I hit the water ,, hard LOL ..
will the slock ride plate tame this down .. it has a longer one on it now .. cant rememeber the name ,, damn brain cells ..
well is this the way it supposed to ride or maybe those plexiglass sides are causing probs ?

i dunno man, i have a 98 sxi and i know some of what your talking about. i dont have side sponsons (yet) and i can tell you it get the worst at high speed....i beleive thats where the main difference between this and the sxr lies. u think the side sponsons are home made? i think everyone will agree that we need to see those, lol. but that might be the problem. if it grabs too hard that may be the sponsons needing adjusted/removed. if i was u i would leave the pipe in. get a cameraphone and take the pics! haha

p.s. ive also done the side cartwheel at wot several times (and i dont have the sponsons) dont get me wrong, but i dont mind a difficult to ride jetski....makes for a fun time! the sxi has flaws...but its got teeth! :wizard:

oh yea its got teeth ... damn fast .. what a sweet spot in the mid range throttle response with the fact pipe :) slight touch and she rips ...
cant find too many pics at pwctoday but there are some there .. sure wish they made it easier to post pics here

I've ridden several SXi Pro's with front sponsons and they seemed to work well. I've owned several stock Pro's and they are a total PITA to ride fast, that's just the way they are if you ask me.

haha .. no kev .. i will keep the pipe on ... almost lost the studs , thought I ripped out the threads in the manifold , I didnt lock down with the second set of those oval lock nuts you sent and she all vibrated loose .. swam her back in and got it all back together nice n tight now :) just cost me another manifold gasket . looks like pipe is staying on I will most likely get used to it just like my X2 :)
yea I do remember people telling me those hulls are like riding on marbles ..

take the sponsons off... i ride a 94 sxi(sx hull..no difference) and i dont have n e problems

top half of the hull is the same .. but the bottom on the pro is concave .. carves up a storm but unstable at higher speeds ... how do the newer srx or sxr s compare ??
