That depends largely on how many stickers you have on it. Add up your stickers, you may have as much as 200hp:bigeyes: Besides, yellow is a fast color. That should add a few hp alone.

Christ a stock gp 800 motor makes 120hp and I have almost the size displacement w/ higher comp., porting, and all the extras... even the same size carbs...

Am I way off here??

It's not too hard to get 120hp out of a 62T engine (especially with race gas and a dry pipe), but it's still like apples and oranges. Check out GP800 reeds compared to 62T reeds. The same  factor pretty much applies to every aspect of the 800 engine. The 800 is a 10mm stroker, has exhaust valves, has HUGE lamey type ports, and it's 120hp on 87 octane (very low compresion).

Not to say one engine is better than the other, but they're made for different applications, so you just can't compare peak horsepower numbers.

Nick dude, your motor WOULD make 120 HP IF you'd remember to put the sponges in...:Banane01:

I'd guess you're not making big top end HP, just gobs of torque.:headbang: Maybe 105?

But so what? You're a surf rider; You never get to hold it wide open that long. Maybe on flatwater....

They're 44's as far as I can tell. I don't know if the I-body part is a performance benefit, I'd guess not (considering nobody uses them in the aftermarket). I'd guess they're better for emissions.

Ya, your right, I just looked it up. I could of swore it said 46mm in the YAM spec/torque manual booklet I used to used at the rental co when i wrenched/rebuilt some of those motors. Also they looked huge. I keep finding when i look up specs on the net for the gp800R, it says 44 SBN.
I dont think they're I body carbs. I had my SeaDoo I body 38's off the other day and was noticing how huge they look. They are the size of SBN 44's. Anyways dont mean to thread jack.

There may be a big difference in oem cages, but in VF's only the mounting plate differs and you can cut the plate down on a VF for a gp800 to fit the 701 intake.
