SX/SXi/SXi Pro 94 750 sx whats next?

im not exactly sure what kind it is because i bought it with a exhaust on it. i think is a cofman though, i know for sure though its not a factory pipe.

ah yes, dry pipe. Id look for a factory limited pipe. I switched from a factory mod pipe to a limited pipe and the performance gain was unreal. The mod pipe had better top end as will your dry pipe. If you want that low end kick your gonna want to get limited. BTW you should get a oil pump block off plate and premix your fuel/oil if you didnt already do it. I noticed you still had the oil tank in it.

keep an eye on the for sale section and the kawi parts section on pwctoday.com I know that superjetman3@yahoo.com says he has a factory B-pipe (never made a B-pipe for kawi, should be a limited) for 500. Thats about the going rate for a clean used one. If you want a new pipe Id call factory pipe, they are pretty cool to deal with.

ok ill looking into the limited pipe, i did make it premix over the winter as well. i think, who ever had the ski before me hollowed out he water box, the thing is loud!

That drypipe was designed for high port SXI cylinders. They become a strong low end pipe when used on low port cylinders. Verify your compression and timing and work on the pump. There is not a lot you can do and still be pump gas safe.

ok, ive never checked the timing before, how do you do that? and also how do i know if there is any pump work done? from the stickers that were on the ski when i got it, it looks like the guy raced it at one point. there are a few IJSBA stickers on it.

Advance plate is :) flow control valve is :)

Next on the list is the lightened flywheel, this will greatly help right? I am still not seeing enough bottom end as I would like

Lightening the flywheel will help although buying a llightweight flywheel is lighter still. I went with the latter (found one on ebay, a RAD, as I recall aprox $300-350ish).

I believe the power struggle we all have is as such; buy a mod, notice an improvement, (usually a slight improvement), get use to it, want more, buy another mod, get use to it, want more, etc, etc.

I came to the point where I told myself; this is it, enough is enough, it's a fast boat and reliable, it ain't a Rickter or a Superfreak. Hone the skills and have fun!

FYI- I believe the hull and handling were the best mods for the money; Custom/shorter pole, Tubbys, grate, ride plate, impeller, gotta have a good bulge pump, etc.

you should not run the MSD enhancer and advance plate, it will advance the timing too much and MAY detonate. I just posted this, you may be interested in it.

Still new in sealed box. I have this ignition from my racing days. I bought several of them in order to have spares but never had to replace to original one I installed in my ski.
Anyone who is familiar knows these are the ultimate in reliability and offer endless tuning options.
Once you remove your OEM CDI this one bolts in the stock location, perfect fit.
You need to have the battery hooked up and all cables connected.
Then, the Vilder CDI has a cable that may be accessed through the fuse access cap on your e-box.
You simply plug and play.
You can program your machines degrees of ignition advance and retard per RPM.
You are able to run tons of advance for low end power than back it off at the higher RPM's so as to not detonate your motor.
For all you tuners this is a must have. You maintain your stock charging system.
The ignition come with CDI, disk, and computer cable.
All wires match up to your OEM harness.
This one is brand new, still in its original sealed box.
I still have a few but will never use this one, so I've decided to sell it...make me an offer, feel free to call me, 908 892 2501 / Doug, located in NJ

more mods

sxipro02, if you are referring to me please feel free to contact me directly about the Vilder ignition, I don't want to hi-jack his thread. I'm at gdouglas8@verizon.net / or 908 892 2501 -Doug

As for your '94 SX, the factory limited pipe is the only pipe to run on your boat. You can get decent money for your dry pipe, which was designed for the taller port newer engines. Timing and compression are working against you. The stock ignition is 13/18, I believe, which is very weak. I would personally not run the MSD enhancer, they were a little problematic, in my opinion. A 6 or 7 degree advance plate is your simplest least evasive way to boost your timing. Or if you or a friend is good with a computer the viider ignition is also a super easy mod with limitless options.
Your stock compression is also way low. you can deck the head a good .0020, maybe .0015 to play it safe, for a decent bump in low end power. Keep it under 185lbs compression.
The skat 9/17 prop is the only prop to run, yes the old style fat hub. You can have impros modify yours to work to keep cost low. Jetting is key, the stock single 40 works well, it is enough to have you ripping.
We removed the waterbox and would look in the exhaust inlet, there is a wall as soon as you look inside...cut a hole in that wall, remove as much material as possible so that it is as big, or bigger than the inlet itself, this will offer more free flowing exhaust, it wont be any louder...maybe a touch. You need a decent intake grate, ride plat is not so critical.
We use to run a 550 drive coupler and actually drill new holes in the bed plate to move the motor forward, this would keep the nose down, which is necessary with all the added power. Dump as much water through diverters as possible, we put valves on 2 of the outlets to control the water flow. Water injection can help, just make sure you run a good water filter on the water going into the water injection.
I'm sure there is more but this should certainly give you alot to go on.
Porting can help but our limited boats back in the day would fly with what I described.
They may not be quite the animals of today but would certainly be quite respectable.
good luck.

oh yeah, lighten the stock flywheel.
