I'm guessing it because people are waiting to see more 66e's in ski's.

if someone wants a lot of known predictable power now, lamey is still the way to go.

If you're willing to fool around and do some custom work and MAYBE have a motor that will fit your riding style then the 66e could be a good fit.

ballpark figures
cylinder is 1600 new
crank is 1500 new
kawi top end is 250 new
cases and clearanced for crank 650

judges port work goes from mild to wild and so does the price anwhere from 500 to 1000 for the cylinder. his cases are ususally 800 + for porting and epoxy.

is it the old style lamey? and who made the crank

but i would think 3000 is decent it all depends on what is done to it.

lamey's with lenzi porting is basically no porting at all.

Why don't people order Lamey's ported from Lamey? Is Lamey's porting not as good as others? It seems like their own porting would be superior w/the fact that they make the cylinders.

lameys porting is lenzi porting per sae. i hope he competes on a more ported motor. what you get from lamey is just mild clean up of the transfers and such. the porting dictates what the motor can and will do.

I talked to a guy at Lamey 2 weeks ago and he 'talked' like they port for your preference from freestyle comp only to freeride to race porting. I take it that was some 'hot air'?

i am going exclusively on what is told to me by my engine builder tim judge. he has been working with lameys since he started making them. if you want one to haul ass, just call him. i would think chuck from team scream would chime in on it as well. i would think his lamey cylinders are ported by him as well.

and from dealing with lamey myself, some of his people are not the sharpest knife in the drawer. i had one of them say you did not need to clearance the cases for a 5 mil crank.

when i bought it i was told it was tj ported
ive never ran it and really dont see myself useing since the 66e sj is just stupid fast
i think ill try to get some pics this weekend and sell it
think i need to pull the head to get some inside? or just shoot through the ex port?

As Lee already stated, Lamey porting is basically clean up porting. This is still a HUGE advantage over a 61x cylinder, but a far, far cry from what TJ does. I had a 'lamey ported' 5mm big bore pv cylinder that looked like it had all of 5 minutes grinding time on it. When I got mu first TJ cylinder, I realized how much work actually goes into that stuff.

Food for thought.

I've been told that by a quite a few peeps on here........ but you would have to take out about 1mm in the cases for a 6 mil crank.

For +5 cranks it depends on what rods are used. If it has OEM Yamaha rods it fits with out modification. If it has Aftermarket rods then it needs to be clearanced.

All +6 need it.
