Is there any reason that the various 750 and 800 stators wouldn't be intercahngable? I see there are two part numbers on the kawi parts list. One is a 21003 and the other is a 21003 A. Is it a big deal?

the 92-94 had a thinner wire. 95 and up are better. thicker wire
04 and up no longer have charge coils on the stator

Ok so if I want to go back to 750 style electrics to try an Advent do I need an SXR stator or can I run any 750 preferably the 96 or newer?

will a zxi stator fit on other 750 models ? thats the question

Yes to your question.
Use can use an advent with ethier
Advent is a DC cdi and does not use the charge coils on the stator.
the stock 04 and up SXR cdi is also a DC cdi.
IF you use a zxi stator use the advent for 03 and under so all the connections are the same

No, the Advent will still charge your battery as long as your running a charging flywheel.
I learned a ton about ignitions the summer of 05 when I went through 3 Advents boxes and 2 stators

correct me if I'm wrong oh great Scornone. The Advent powers the coil directly from the battery and the stator charges the battery so it powers the coil like a TL would but you still charge the battery. this allows you to use the ADVENT with a charge or TL flywheel, i think i remember that being the case? OEM the stator charge coil powers the ignition coil and the other stator coil charges the battery. Wow that makes sense in my head but not sure if it made it from my brain to the keyboard.

You got it right Sir baldness.
a DC cdi use the battery to power the coil
Oh, and don't ask me why I remember all this crap instead of 18th street

the difference is just the coils with the earlier analogue ignitions
i have a friend with an x2 when we fitted my sxr ignition we just pulled the coil out
its not needed as the inferno is a pure digital ignition and runs off battery voltage the same as what yamaha did with the 760 system

Wax when you say earlier analogue ignitions, what model year are you referring to? The 03 and earlier?

Sorry I am so lost on this stuff but I am running a 650 ignition on my 840. I think it can be improved on.

I actually noticed 61X yamaha electrics would bolt up to my 840 with holes I made to mount the kawi 650 stator...........

yes the 03 and earlier
in 2004 they went to the digital and it runs directly off the battery
the other one used to have an exciter circuit for the cdi

trying to run a 750 one on there is no issue you just have to get the right loom and its almost plug and play
