701 61x sbt brand new overheating blown head gaskit

rebuilt 701 61x from sbt what would cause this every thing is new got looped holed because I had a pipe and jet it was overheating as soon as I drove it no water clogged anywhere new ware ring and prop 32/1 gas for brake in please help

What makes you think it was overheating? Perhaps the water routing with your pipe is wrong?

I have a 2nd set up the same way same everything I just rebuilt everything on the ski it's all new I've looked over everything 3 times

It was going into limp mode after 3 minutes of driving

Assuming it actually overheated (the head temperature sensors do go bad FYI) I’d check your water line routing. Can you draw a quick sketch maybe?

The water coming out of the pisser would burn you and it would start to shoot out just steam after 3 4 minutes it was hot couldn't even touch it I'm really just stock on what else could be the problem because getting good water from the pump put something is off for sure and it doesn't overheat on the water hose when putting fresh water in it

It's a Riva red pipe the main line from the pump connect to the bottom of the manifold then there is a t with a line from the head to the pi to the fresh water clean out then there's a line that goes from one length of the pipe to the other with a 142 115 jet

I’m not sure what the correct routing for that pipe is but it sounds like you have two feeds to the motor so water is just sitting in the motor.

Actually maybe I misunderstood that. As long as water goes in the manifold and out the head it shouldn’t overheat

Next question would be what’s your jetting and where do u have the stator plate set in terms of advance/retard?

It's on 0 it's stock timing everything is stock except for the pipe and the Jets are 142 high speed 115 low they've always been I have 2 setups the same

Thinking about it, I think there isn’t enough flow out of the head send pic of head

The small fitting in the stock head is meant for a stock exhaust and not a pisser. Not enough flow coming out of the motor so the water is sitting in there and heating up

Every thing is the same as when I pulled the 701 out of it its something with the new sbt 701 I just don't know what yet I don't know if the jug was bad are the head but the gasket is burt and it gets hot way to fast but I am for sure that everything is right on the set up just something I've had like 5 other 701 guys look at it I just don't know where to go from here as to what to look into next also it had 160 160 before I pulled the head gasket

check your water lines. Did one come off at the pump? If you hook up your hose to the engine does it still over heat? Do you see water leaking? To test on a the hose: start engine, turn on water, turn off engine, turn off water.

Yea I was thinking that I wasn't sure why that was there but the 701 was out for 3 days my question is what would make a head gasket burn like that after just a couple minutes of ride time
