300/440/550 650sx help IN SC

I am in beaufort sc and i need help tuning my 650 sx. I have a west coast pipe and mani, pjs waterbox, 38mm carb, mariner head. I can not get this thing to stay running, and if it does run it runs like crap. I also get no water from the pisser, but all the lines are clear. sometimes it backfires too. if anybody is in sc or tampa area in fl i will bring my ski to you and pay you to tune it. give me a call if you think you can help (843)476-9296 name is travis.

so i figured out that my 650 sx runs great when it is hooked up to the hose, but if it is in the water it runs like chit! water lines hooked up wrong????.... carb out of tune or what could it be?

It sounds like you may have sheared a flywheel key. Bring that mo fo to Greenville, I'll straighten it out for you

Sounds like possibly a compression issue too. Check that. You might have a bad head gasket forcing air into the water jacket area. This would explain no water out of the pisser and no power while in the water but better on the hose. Might also want to check your lines for blockage.

i sent you a pm. I dont actually live in walterboro. I wasn't really sure if you were familliar with sc all that well. I live in st. george. You can ride in the edisto in some areas right now, but water levels change and the river can go to as little as 1 and half feet. I usually ride in moncks corner on the lake or in the tail race. That is where I am originally from.

If it back fires you either have an air leak or lean carb.or timming issue
you should be running 44MM carb anyway.
650's are notorious for sheering the woodruff key and letting the flywheel go just alittle off, enough to cuase your symtoms. check that first.
