Super Jet 650 vs 701?

So I picked up a 92 square nose. At some point I'd like to find a round nose but they are a little hard to come by around here. The 92 has been milled slightly and has a coffman pipe. It seems to run real good. Will this thing even compare in terms of power to a 701?? I will probably end up letting my 16old daughter have this when I eventually find the round nose I want.... Thanks..

There is no replacement for displacement.

There are at least 3 complete 701's and 760's on ebay right now for under $300.

The cylinder ports are so drastically different on the 6m6 650 cylinder compared to a 701. No the 6m6 cylinder can never compare to a 701. 6m6 cylinder, even bored and ported, still = boat anchor.IMO

To answer your question, a 650 with a coffmans pipe is close to a 701 with a stock pipe. You can use the coffmans 650 pipe with a 61X cylinder.

That's kinda what I was looking for. Just a comparison to the 701 in its stock form. I realize sky's the limit when the mods begin! Thanks.

A Buddy of mine had riva build him a 6m6, ported, bored to 701, head, dry pipe, 46, after all that it would hang with a stock 61x/61x but not 62t/61x. There is definitely a limit when you have a 6m6 cylinder.

my 6m6 only has wisecos and a bore, and it hangs with my buddies stock 701 blaster. It doesnt have the same bottom end snap, but its def enough to have fun.

Ive rode a few sjs, couple 760 ones, and one 701. The 701 felt like it had the best powerband for bottom end to me. Thats just my opinion

I would love to see a ported 650 with a powerfactory pipe n flame ign compared to a 701

I should clarify, the built 6m6 never had good bottom end snap. My point is how much money do you want to invest in a boat anchor? You can move out of the 80s and in to the 90s for less money than a mod 6m6.

Why would anyone spend more on a pipe then a motor? Same with the flame, it costs way more then any 6m6 would. Might as well just wipe with the $ you'd be throwing away on a pos motor.

A 650 w/a Coffman pipe is not horrible at all. Plus, remember, it has more to do with the rider than the motor. I'll honestly admit that my 160 lb 19 year old son can do far more on our 650 w a Coffman pipe, head and other goodies than I can on my 737cc b-piped, ADA head, Hooker, MSD, blah blah blah. The fact that I am pushing 190 lbs and almost 50 years old factors in as well.

This will not be my permanent ski. I will probably let my daughter ride it. I was just curious of how it would hold up to a bone stock 701. Thanks for all the feedback!

I put a riva red pipe on my girl's 90 wr3 with a 650 last year and rejetted the carb. it ran real good. though i agree with everyone else, there is no replacement for displacement. just some mild work to that 701 will make it rip.

Wtf why???

I spent enough on my not running or brapping 760 to buy both a flame AND a powerfactor pipe. I switched to a 650 group k motor and feel it could produce more power.
