Super Jet 650 superjet driveline upgrade theory. (prop centric)

So there have been a couple threads I've had now about what I should do with my 650. Sorry. Here is one more...Right now I am grabbing anything I can afford at the time. What I'm trying to do is make sure everything I get will transfer over to a 701 platform! This way I won't have to re-buy pieces later. At least that's the working plan.

At this time I have a strong running 650 motor all stock. I just picked up my protec 701 pipe. I believe its a mach1. When I bought the ski august of last year, the previous owner told me the prop was aftermarket. I didin't get a pitch from him... I've been told the prop isn't great and the prop is good and probably aftermarket. Can't see any numbers to tell for sure. Haven't pulled it to check. The working plan is on the first ride tune the pipe and see how it rides. And then I'll decide if I should reprop.

Could someone define "loading" up to me? Is this when the prop spins but doesn't "hook up" and thrust you? I can describe my ski as "loose" with hooking up the pump. It's great when I'm trying to slide and play but sometimes I'm trying to recover and it takes a long time and I have to brap brap brap for too long to get back on plane for my next maneuver. But I can also describe the power band as VERY low. I got a partial on the test drive. I've ridden my friends piped 701's and sxr 800's and they all have more power through out, of course. But on my 650 most of the power I do have is strait off idle. I like that but don't know if its the best "spot". I dont know.

So as I've stated numerous times elsewhere I ride lake erie. I really want to surf the washing machine. Like dust bunnies running from the Tide...Free and Clear. Puns aside what do you guys think!? 13/16 cut back concord or 9/15 hooker OR 10/16 hooker? I think I need some midrange for the big days.

when i bought out coffmans remaining inventory, i got their dyno test info. their sizzler pipe only adds 6 hp to the 650 motor. i'm pretty sure thats about what any pipe adds to the 650. you would be better off hogging out the tiny exhaust ports in the cylinders. it sounds like cavitation if the prop spins and you go nowhere.the prop is spinning on air instead of grabbing water. either because you dont have a top loader grate or you are trying to lean the boat over in corners. superjets flat turn and you have to hang off the side in corners.if you lean them over like a kawi , they dont hook up.

Get that impeller, it is very good out of the box and will work with anything up to low port big bores. A good grate is also needed, make sure the grate bolts arent punched through the shoe or it will always vibrate.
