64X x 61X..... OEM 38´s x 44´s x single´s.... doubts.

Im just going to build a ski after sell all my big engines including 3 years old Lamey´s 8mm and old style TLR 6mm (bought from RR JETTECH - it was still strong even comparing with the new engines).

Well, now Im getting back to 701´s, 760´s, Oem carbs...

I just talked with some builders and got advices to run 64X cyl ported...

About the carbs... I was told that OEM 44´s are good but I never tried.

During my gold times even having big motors I always had a 701 w/ 38´s and I really liked that.

Getting crazy deciding. New sport forced to sell but I can´t leave without a superjet.

Any opinions are welcome.

thanks

I run dual OEM 44s, and I just recently got the engine dialed in.... I managed to get these as a bonus, cleaned them up and just decided to run them as a temporary solution until i could afford to drop for a pair of blackjacks.... But after seeing how they run, there is no point for me. I do not believe there could be much of a difference that would be worth the 500$

They hit hard. You just have to go an extra jet bigger on the low end to compensate for not having a 4th low end circuit.

I dont know about 38s, I cant remember. I was NEVER impressed with how my 38s ran. My ported motor kept bending reeds from to high of air velocity through the little things. Always felt like the motor was restricted too.. It would just never rev fast enough out of the hole.

Aftermarket 44s and 46s have 4 fuel circuits though.

I used to think the same exact thing Fox.
I had OEM 44's on my big bore LPW and Paul gave jetting/pop off specs and I go them dialed in great. I thought they hit hard......
until I got the dual 44 BrapJacks and then it was a night and day difference. It turned my ski into the animal I thought it should of been after building a BB with cyl/case porting.
I can honestly say that it compares to a special mod like getting you first B pipe or MSD TL.

I got lucky and found my dual 44 Brapjacks for $250 a couple years ago. They were a little ragged but I fixed them up and theyre awesome.
You just gotta look. Its a little harder to find them now that the word is out about them.

Sounds like you got a good deal on the OEM 44's, just keep looking and saving for some Brapjacks. You will keep them forever when you get them, so it will be a good investment... lol

Compared to OEM 44's Brapjacks are like a "power light switch". OEM 44's are like "smooth butter" carbs IMO.

Hrmm... Well I talked to art and he actually disuaded me from buying a pair... and I really wanted a pair too... oh yes I did. Perhaps someday I will... who knows. All I know is mine hit pretty damn hard, I cant imagine my 701 revving any faster? I dunno... check my videos... tell me yourself. they dont load up either.... and I'm still running them probably a full jet size too rich.

Did you happen to buy bombthreats?

Hrmm... No idea. Not sure who that would be? But I think you should send me yours to see how much improvement there actually is.... Do you remember what yours are jetted at? I setup my 44s with a 2.3 n/s, I believe a gold spring... but i dont remember, I was shooting for ~20 psi, though never actually tested them.... then I think i am at 130 on both high and low... might be 135 though....

Oh and for anyone wondering. Art does not add the 4th fuel circuit to OEM carbs when he makes them blackjacks. He says there is changes but they still do not tune same as a normal blackjack... He also says hes made a few, but has never actually bench flowed them and extensively tested them....

Thats what made me not send in my carbs.... Figured I might as well just get OEM ones from him. Unfortunately that would make it like a 600$ purchase instead of $250.

BTW. Are the blackjack's like the SRE's????
Some kind of "vaporized fuel deliver" from a full circle opened ventury.

I got my BLackjacks from Butch(Nikad).
I just remember when you got that B pipe from him that took forever to ship and the stinger was sticking out the corner of the box and that is what you said about it..
I just remembered that and i thought it was funny as I think it was referring to fat bastard on Austin Powers when he says "I think I have a turtle head a pokin out" ...lol:arms:

Sorry dont mean to be thread jacking here..:27:

When i was on LPW ported 62T case, ported 82mm 61x cyl. with the OEM 44's, TL, B pipe ltd. it was:
Mains 110
Pilots 117.5
2.0 needle and seat
95 gr spring 24-26 pop off pressure

When i went to 84mm on 61X with dual Brapjack 44's and same mods as above it was:
125 main
130 pilot
2.0 n/s
95 gr. spring 24 pop off.

Now I have a stock stroke cast 61X DASA cylinder @85.50 flat top Wiseco's and same mods above. Art recommended this for the dual 44 Brapjacks:
130 main
130 pilot
2.0 n/s
95 gr. spring w/ 24-26 pop off.
Getting ready to test it tomorrow finally!:arms:

These were all on epoxied, heavily ported cases and basic freestyle cyl. porting, MSD TL, Bpipe, V force II, etc.

Dont know if that will help ya out, but that is my experiences..

Dunno, I just got it from DASA and they set me up with new pistons, bore, and new billet head. Its suppose to be the 2nd generation cast Lamey. it has the old DASA logo on the oval part on the cylinder.
