I have the chance to get a complete 64x w/electrical crap and fuel, could send cylinders to LPW for porting, install new top end kit and would have a total of 85.00 in after it's all said and done. (and still have my LPW 701 intact and ready to drop back in). The big ? is-HOW IS 64x PORTING STOCK-TOO HIGH-JUST RIGHT(for LPW to be able to port)?????????

I told you to leave your kneepads in the closet. What have you gone and done now? :spankme:

any engine builder can get that to work for you. he may have to mill the bottom of the cylinders to get the port timing where he wants them.

can they work well without any expensive machine work though?
LIke milling or decking, or anything like that.

How about freestyle ported, and a thin base gasket?
ad compression and ignition advance and go play?

mine works great. it's ported and make very usable power. I wouldn't call it a flatwater freestyle motor though. It's more of a surf motor.

gotcha. Unless your competing or only do strictly flat water tricks, a 760 motor is fine. Robby Crossley had a 760 Jr Magoo's motor that he just sold.

I was thinking that the BIGGEST benefit was cheaper, and possibly better mid and top end.

But as it turns out, I might not be able to build one any cheaper than the 61x stuff I already have accumulated.

So, the cost/benefit for ME might not be there.

I talked to Paul this am-he gets a 61x cylinder to come alive at 1800rpm/ he can only get the 64x cylinder to come alive at 3000-3500rpm. Sounds like a 62t and 64x is not for me.

no kidding.

Ride around with a tach on your ski, mine was doing 4000 rpm to basically stay on plane ( keeping your feet out of the water)

Ive never understood the "bottom end hit" theory.
