62t lost spark, sortof

I'm a little rusty diagnosing spark issues so hoping someone can point me in the right direction. Just picked up a smashed up wave venture with a clean 62t 701. It was a recent flood victim. I pulled the front cover, it was clean but I sprayed it off anyway, cleaned water and mud out of the motor and oiled it thoroughly. Now my only issue is no spark. I need to get this thing running asap. I tried switching coils and even tried my MSD from my FX-1. With the fx's MSD in, I got a spark every once in a while when I first hit the starter. SO I have only very intermittent spark with a known good cdi and coil. None with the stock CDI. I assume the flywheel or pickup are weak or bad. Before I go using my 6m6 electronics, I'd like to see if its just the wheel or pickup. Can I test the Pickup with a multimeter? I'm not sure wich setings to use for this and I do not have a peak meeter. Anyways, some help is appreciated. I'd like to use this 62t setup if possible.

Not that anyone is reading, lol. But, I changed out every possible electrical part including rectifier stator, flywheel, you name it. Still have the intermittent spark issue. Yesterday i found the low voltage black wire on the solinoid was loose. So I changed it. Still, no bueno. My only conclusion is that the ground is being interupted somehow by the starter since the engine sparks at the begining of the starting and just after you release the starter. One Idea was to crank the motor with a drill but my drill isntvery strong. I guess I'm going to pull the starter and mess with that. Also going to try an extra ground from box to block and replace the main ground. I'll update when I know more.

Unplug the stop switch and try again.
Make sure the block is grounded.
Make sure the ebox is grounded.
Use new spark plugs.

is the battery good? didnt somebody post one time that they were buying up bad msd's and that the issue was that the stator ground was broken and the msd was fine? I have found a few times that when you chase down all the grounds you usually find one that is bad and it fixes it.

LOL, just figured it out a little bit ago. Thanks for the help anyway. My post was going to be this:

Killswitch killswitch killswitch!!! Doh!

At any rate, I have now checked, varified and compleetely rebuilt two entire electrical boxes starters and stators. Now i can put another ski together! Bonus!

Yea, I havn't delt with spark issues in a few years. I'm definetly rusty. I did get my entire drive line rebuildtt in the process though. So although It took me all week, I have a good fresh ski to ride.
