61x case porting

I wanted to bump this thread to see if anyone has any positive experience with the 61x case porting? Seems like a few people had positive results in addition to other mods that will obviously give positive results anyway...

I had a 61x case with a 62t ported cylinder. I ran this motor first without porting the case and then again with the case ported. the power was a lot more smooth with the case porting.

Was it like a light switch before you ported it and if so...was it at the bottom or near the top?

it was like a switch before. it picked up more low end after porting the case.

And Phill will be able to contribute on what not to do to 61X cases. :haha:

On that note, I was comparing cylinders this weekend that I ported.
Exhibit 1: A 61X cylinder with stock sleeves at 84mm bore
Exhibit 2: A 6M6 cylinder with stock sleeves at 77mm (?) bore.

Man, those 61X sleeves look like rice paper compared to the 6M6. :bigeyes:
