so then?

why would i want a 760 cylinder?

would that extra 20ccs of displacement be worth it given the higher EXH port?
you're right, that is why they are junk and should be sent to me to be used as boat anchors.

And you're sure about that?

You are 100% positive port timing on a 701 62T is different from a 760 62T?

maybe there are different 62t 701 cylinders?

werent the early raider ones the ones that used 61x sleeves? and the later used the 62t ( higher port sleeves)
?

if a 760 has this port timing, then weve been fed alot of BS all these years about the timing being wrong...

:dunno:

No, is that what he asked?

thats what I was asking Oh Dark one.

the cylinders I have, I beleive were NOT resleeved.

Ive looked at 3 62t 701 cylinders, all had 61x exh port timing.

Ive never compared with a 760 cylinder.

Not necessarily. I suspect different port timing has somethign to do not only with application (sitdown vs standup) but also displacement.
A larger displacement cylinder will have more power throughout. Sooo...I speculate that a higher port timing for more topend is an acceptable compromise in most applications, because the bottom end is taken care of by displacement.

The 6M6 650 has low port timing. The 61x is higher.
The 62T is higher yet.

Of course, I am likely full of ********.

You know, I wouldn't call that a 62T cyl then. Because effectively, it's a 61x. :haha:

What about the intake port timing?

What are you talking about, intake port timing??? You mean transfer ports? The only things that are "timed" are ports that the piston is going by.

And boy does it kick ass.. So much so that the engine now lives in a round nose, Cos i could`nt handle it all in the FX-1 hull.
