As title says I'm getting low compression in both cylinders around 120 psi in my 61x engine . Is replacing Rings and Pistons my best bet? Any upgrades I might as well do during a rebuild?
InnovaWhat gauge are you using? The Harbor Junk ones are known to be about 30 psi low.
Yeah I havnt noticed any change in performance. Last year it was 150 in both cylinders so I was just a little worriedThe best running motor I ever had was a 61X that had 120psi in each hole and piston slap like a mofo!
How much does a typical rebuild run? 400$?If both gauges showed 150 last year and now the same gauges show 120 then obviously your compression is lower. If it still runs fine then run it. But at some point an engine is just simply worn out and can have low compression with both cylinders even and it's time for a rebuild.
