i did the opposite i put 62t head on 61x cylinder with no problems, u will have to get the 61x heafgastet cause the heads cooling holes are difftrent

No, That should be BACKWARDS...62T headgasket with all newer heads, all older 61X heads either gasket will work.
Here's why:
The older heads (61X) used long slot water jacket passages, they did have a tendency to blow the headgasket out easily, really were prone if you milled them over 040 thousandths!
Then the new head (62T) came out and Yamaha put bridges in the long slots to fix and prevent premature headgasket failure, well the early 61X headgasket has the water passage hole right where the new bridges are and would block the flow, the reason you now need to use a 62T newer headgasket that has the relocated water passage holes with any newer bridged 62T head!
