hoping to glass this week

Personally, I'd trim those sharp edges down so that you match the slope on the "control panel" part in front of the tray - smashing your forehead into those wouldn't be nice! Otherwise looks good!

thats what i had planned, but unfortunately i began to cut without thinking and where that edge is meets where the bond line is on the inside of the hull... so if i cut more i will end up going inside of the engine compartment... any ideas?

my bigest concern is gonna be glassing the deck and remainder of rails, i have sanded the shiot out of all the surfaces with 80 and 120 grit paper, i have some thick coarse mat and epoxy resin. my plan is to wash everything down then wipe it with acetone then glass in overlaping layers.... it will prob be very ugly because i hate glassing. any tips or advice before i get going on it?

That would be a fun ski!! For those edges if you can't get away with getting it to match the rest of the dash, you could fround the very top edge. from the pics it looks like that should be not a big problem, then just make sure ya got padding on there when you turf it, and your good to go!!! keep up the good work, and don't forget the pic's!!!

ok those of you that have done this, there is a guy on one of the other sites that is telling me to do all this outrageous stuff to prevent this from sinking.... i basically told him he was full of ********, then he proceeded to show me a picture of a ski that he claims was just like what im building that sank..... he is full of ******** isnt he? i just cant understand how a little over a cubic foot or two of foam would make the difference in this floating or sinking, he will not quit talking abt it so i figured i would ask ppl that actually know what they are talking about

Cool project! I think this mod with the fixed steer hood would be the shiz for surf.

same dudes on here, and there not that far off. my 550 almost sunk with foam once. not good time. there are alternatives to foam that is all they are saying.
