same dudes on here, and there not that far off. my 550 almost sunk with foam once. not good time. there are alternatives to foam that is all they are saying.

well what is a FEASIBLE alternative? defoam and glass over with some drain plugs?

ps ski carzy, i just got your parts in, thanks ALOT. im sure the shipping cost nearly what you charged me for the parts, i really appreciate the help man.

i actually saw matt's build, the only thing that scares me is re glassing in the center of the deck, i dont know how i would cut it out then get it to remain in place while i glass back over it... i guess i could just go the tough route and go from the existing holes and dig all the foam out. looks like im in for some FUN times lol

foam digging is not the best job by far. and idk about your center section. i think matt put some 2part foam in some ares for more support. i like this build it had crossed my mind to do something similar, but i just have to many other things to do right now.
looking good so far.

today i got the deck galssed up, and let me tell you I SUCK AT THIS.... it has 3 layers of thick loose woven fabric then two layers of tight nit cloth. i let the fabric overhang on the sides (looks like ********) and will just sand it smooth once it is no longer tacky. some air bubbles wouldnt come out of the tight nit fabric on top so i just gave up... i know its not pretty but on a side note i did sand the whole thing down with 60 grit till it was all white before i began, so im hoping it will all stick. if its nice tomorrow im gonna do some sanding on the hood and reinforce on the inside.

Hey Chris... I don't know if Adam told you, but when we were talking earlier, my phone died.

Looks good though... use lots of padding, that glass isn't very strong.

And order a detail roller for epoxy.. it works great at getting bubbles out!

just got done sanding the glass with some 40grit and layed a final layer of cloth over.... this time i cut and fit all the curves prior to doing it, i think i am getting alot better at this fiberglass stuff :fing02: i also went ahead and sanded out a cracked area in the front of my hull before the batch of epoxy hardened and i layed about 5-6 layers of overlapping cloth and mat. ill have pics soon, as soon as the glass is good and hard i will begin final sanding and prep for the rattle can paint job!
