how far has any one traveled on an SJ?

I’ve done a 50 mile run on my SXR up the Colorado River. It took about 3 hrs and 10 gallons (Full tank and 5 in the tray). I’ve also rode my Super Jet from Oceanside Harbor to Catalina Island which is just under 60 miles. There’s no current but there’s ocean chop. It took a little more than 2 tanks and 5 hrs. (I could have made it faster than 5 hrs but that was as fast as the chase boat would go!)

jerry can..... cherry can....... the red do-a-ma-hick-ey you put gas in.
maybe its patent pending in canada, ******** if i know.

We made a trip up river 15 miles and back down on one tank of gas on the JS 550 well one ski made it and the other ran out of gas due to fuel selector switch being stuck on ON not able to get it to reserve so that was 30 miles. We are doing the run again but from Bulls Island in NJ to Easton PA a total of 25 miles each way and we are dropping fuel at the 10 mile mark fueling up on the way up and on the way back. http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=1755321
50 Miles down river you would be floating for the last few take extra fuel.

It would take a few tanks of gas to do that trip. I took my sj across the bay to go the the inlet once and that is only like 2 miles or so. I rode there, rode in the ocean for about 20 minutes, then rode back and I was bone dry on gas. Tired as hell too.

you must have some issues with your carb(s). 2 miles x 2 + 20 minutes of ocean riding shouldnt drain a tank that started out as full.

I have no problem believing that.
Riding a couple miles at mid to high throttle reeaaaallly drains the tank purdy quickly.

A group of five of us did about 18 miles round trip once last year. My Wamilton's ski was EMPTY (Team Scream 828 with dual 44's) but the near stock 650's we had with us barely used half a tank. I think we were riding too slow (dirty river with LOTS of obstacles) and could have covered more ground if we paced ourselves to a speed just above plane.

Oh yeah, fill your ski up with the nose in the air, you can get a little extra fuel in the filler neck.

was that on a river?

i believe it. my ski + dual 46's sucks gas like a pig.

a standard sebby "session" of 30 or so minutes is easily almost a 1/2-3/4 tank for me. :dunno:

Do it on a bBaster....My friends took Blasters (modded) to Ibiza last year and was shocked how far they went. Plus there's loads of room inside and outside the ski for extra fuel.

At the brigatine ride. We all went around the island and through the marsh I think it was about 18 miles.
