50-60 MPH Wind Advisory Today - Interesting riding

So My lake is long and skinny and the wind was tearing down right to where I ride at 50-60 MPH. Made for some interesting riding. The waves were probly 20-25 ft tall valley to tip. My blaster kept cutting out for some reason so I couldn't go too crazy, but whenever I got the nose too high in the air, the wind was actually strong enough to push me over backwards.

How strong of winds do you surf guys ride in? Can't be much more than this or you'd be flyin around whenever you got airborne :)

on lake erie 20-25mph is the best, any more than that and you get blown all over the place. however, i've been out on lake erie on days with gale force winds and snow. 35-50 mph with higher gusts.

I've got some video from today on lake michigan. It was messy as hell. waves were so blown out the only fun i had was directly out from the pier and in teh channel. The ski was really lacking power. I need to get off my ass and get my RN done so i can brap again. A stock stock stock 701 on a neg 4 pole with neg 2 X metal steering just wasn't enough.

I still had fun. Maybe i will go out tomorrow when the wind isn't straight out of the west i an can get some clean sets. They are already starting to shift to the North west.

I should've taken some pics of the lake. I've never seen them that big here. One of these days I'm gonna get a helmet cam going. I tried to take out my SN before the blaster, but I couldn't keep the nose down long enough to stay on. Need more practice I guess.

I just couldn't believe how much the wind was pushing my ski around. Good times!

Catching air in a ferry boat!? That's gotta be intense!

One of these days I need to get up to Michigan and ride some decent surf. Most of my stuff is small time compared to that.

You got any of that video posted Turbo?

I rode today in 10-15mph winds and it sucked hard... Waves were nice 6' sets but the wind messed themup somuch the face was just slop... and with any air time you cold feel the wind push you sideways. made it interesting but not fun kind of cold for a day of surf riding in florida...
