Ive been really working on a few tricks at a time lately instead of just going out and do some tricks and riding and not really focusing on anything. Well ive been trying to basically do the mentioned tricks, well not all but ya know get into that form, I know they are all different some harder than others but I want to basically do a 180 or simply slow into a tail stand, blip the ski up and down jump forward, get my foot on the throttle and do the flip over hanging onto the front. I think that is a monkey jump.

Problem: I get the ski up and down(keep in mind its a 650 Sj so I dont get a real snappy jump but probably enough), so the ski pops up, goes down, then I make the jump the to front and the ski falls down and I get into a superman on the hood, like were I could ride away like rick roy, but cant even get my foot on the throttle for that anyways.

Whats the trick to this, still trying to do the monkey junk not the rick roy im superman point my finger like im cool, I know he is cool tho.

Also, been trying a similar trick I saw in a video, ride on hood forwards do a 180 as ski is spinning put both hands on the hold feet on throttle and do the jump from there, im getting closer at each attempt at both but still dont got IT, im gonna put the wetsuit back on tho cuz theres a lot of stuff to cut and bruise the shins up.

I've been working on the monkey jump for about 10 months. Not all the time, but I try to do 4 or 5 attempts every time I ride. I can get into the correct position about 95% of the time, but sometimes the ski dies before I hit the throttle - I know, I know - turn up the idle. Well I had it up, but my steering is pretty tight, so when I fall off the ski doesn't come back, and I'm stranded.

Nevertheless, I'd say the trick is you just have to keep trying. I remember doing it quite a few times before my foot began to "find" the throttle. Now it just goes to the right spot, but before it was all over the place.

Also, I used to have the ski too straight up when I'd jump and end up falling over backward. When you jump up to grab the nose I guess it pulls it back.

And, be careful of those damn bolts that hold the nosepiece on - I've clipped a finger on them more than once.

Due to the fact that it is a trick with so many componets it is not something you can expect to pick up immediately.

A front exhaust also helps (it helped me anyway)

Monkey Jump = From a Tail Stand to throttle to over nose
Sprung Monkey = jumping completely over the nose while airborn and grabbing as you go over
Ball Breakers = jumping to the hood and bringing the legs up while airbone. You can flip over and under nose on landing or ride out on hood
50/50 = jumping to the hood while airborne, landing tail first and on throttle, coming out and over nose

Monkey jumps...I just get a tail stand...hold the nose some where aroudn 45 degrees....real gentle and smooth with throttle. Let off...then BRAP it up and as the ski goes up I lean back justa little bit and jerk the ski down as i jump up. I just slam my foot directly at the throttle and hope i hit it. Finding the throttle just takes time

Ball breakers....I make a setupwake of any kind...I perfer a U. Approach it at the speed you feal it needs to be at....pop the front end and blast the throttle up the wake. lean back a bit....pull ski down and vertical as you jump up and grab nose.

Sprung monkey...same thing expect jump higher and go for the nose

50/50 same as ball breaker expect land with feet on bars/throttle and then carry out the flip (I have yet to land one of these...sadly)

The secret to hitting the throttle on tricks like this is to slide your foot down the pole.
If you canfind the pole with the arch of your foot, you can hit the throttle.
My consistancy went up like 80% when I started doing it this way.

I;ll definately try that this sunday, if I get one down I should be able to start practicing the other parts of the trick. Oh and im wearing a wetsuit so I dont cut a hole in my shin.
