Actually its a really good combo if set up right. I rode a JSU built Blowsion freeride SXR a few years ago that had a single 48 and that ski RIPPED. I will try to get ahold of Chad Cole who helped build it and see if he remembers the jetting in it.

I am not sure of the benefit, except maybe fuel consumption? I can attest that it ran REALLY good. There was a thread at PWCT that had a picture of that ski, I think it was called "jumping off boat wakes" or something like that, and was a picture of Matt catching some air on it

Speaking of air I am such an airhead, I was searching all over PWCT for this thread, I thought they had deleted it for some reason! DOH!

Dirtykidd what are the jetting specs right now. Got ahold of Chad today and he is going to
go back thru his build notes and get me the specs they ran. You guys who spout off that its
a bad combo, you really dont know what you are talking about! This thing was BAD A S S!

Really, do a search for Bill Haig, He tried to find a good setup using a single on a strong limited setup for the Mark Hahn Memorial Endurance Race. He tested and tested and could not get to work. Oh, his partner for the race was Tim Bushman (TBM), Time provided the hull, Bill provided the motor setup. Bill was one of the R&D guys that worked for Laserjet. He has multiple National and World Championships under his belt.

I am not saying it wont work, but for the average person, nobody is marketed a bolt on and go setup like you can get with the 701 based setup. The Kawi's like a lot of fuel to make them run at peak performance. To find the right setup may be short of a headache.

BK, I know who Bill and Tim are. This boat wasnt built for endurance racing, ie WOT for 30 minutes at a time, its a freeride setup. Built by Steve Webster and Chad Cole, (UMI, JSU, Kommander Industries, C4 Proformance) they found the right setup, thats all I am saying.

I talked to Art from Jetworks couple days ago and asked him about big single carb setup for Kawi. He said it's not best way to go and slitly modified stock carbs outperform single big one, thay will be more predictable setup.
