2nd Pulse line question

So i just upgraded to dual 44's and need to drill and tap for a second pulse line.I dont want to remove my cylinders so im looking at drilling the side of the intake instead of from the top. Anything wrong with doing it this way???

I thought I drilled mine from the top with the cylinders on. I stuffed an oily rag in the the intake hole to catch any filings. I also kept the vacuum cleaner hose close by to catch any filings. The newer 62T cases have a thicker spot to drill through but the older ones don't.

Creative RE Purchasing
I could be wrong, but the ski i bought now had dual 44's on it when i purchased it and it only has one pulse tube coming out of the cases, then goes to a "t" fitting, then to each carb. Is this not an optimal setup?

I suppose you have 62T cases because on 61x cases its as easy as pulling the manifold.

On older 62T cases, its best to drill on the side for the pulse fitting and the later 62T's already have an area in the casting but not drilled out yet (top/front). I'm pretty sure the 94-95 62T's are the ones without the second pulse spot in the casting (not drilled yet).
