hi just wondering if anyone's done and if not what your thought's are.
i am referring to kawi engine mounts, don't know if this would be viable for yami's aswel.
so instead of bolting your bedplate to your mounts. you put a longer bolt (same thread) through your mount from the inside with a large washer in there aswel. so you tighten the bolt so there is 1/2mm of play between bolt head, washer and metal part of mount. (quite loose). then you have a length of thread sticking out of the top of your mount. you then place bed plate on and tighten up with large washer/ lock washer and nut as you would normally. only its a nut instead of a bolt. now, when i've broken engine mounts it's always been the very top metal part coming away from the rubber dampener, so then if/when your mount brake's with this new set up. your engine will still be held in place. directly (though with a bit of play) to the bottom part of the mount. not ideal obviously but enough to get you back to shore? and could this possibly rip the whole mount out of your hull leaving a hole?
i hope you understand what i mean, i can draw up a cross section diagram if know one understands. cheers from down under.
