SXR 2008 SXR ~~~~~ Wetpipe and Carb tuning

Location
STL
I have a 2008 SXR and I have the wetpipe and rd flame arrestors so far. I havent installed them yet. I know nothing about tuning carbs or tuning the pipe. Any help is very appreciated.

I want to get a lot of low end punch. Any other mods you would recommend? I plan on getting the ADA girdled head with 30cc? domes. I want to be able to run 93 pump gas so is that the correct size?

Adj. the top screw on the pipe out a 1/4 turn and close off the other and put in a restrictor or a flow control valve to the waterline going to the tail cone, epoxy in the cross over tube on the intake and run a 165 high speed jet with the head on it and I don't know what altitude you are but we are at a 1000ft above sea level and 26 or 27 cc domes will put you around 180lbs. compression and that is safe for 93 octane. Bore your nozzle out or get a SX 650 nozzle and put on it and it will help your lowend punch, you can buy these on ebay for about $40.

Are you from around the STL area? Would you want to help a friend in need? If not, we should still ride some, I dont have one riding buddy on a standup. Season is getting close to done

We are in the springfield area and we all ride at Tablerock lake in Branson, we rode last year up to thanksgiving and we are down every weekend. If you want to you can talk to us on the Southwest mo. standup forums on the riding groups, there is over 20 of us that ride together and St.louis has there riding group on the forum too. If you have any questions pm me or yell at me on the forum.

Skip the R&D arrestors and pull the rubber stompers out of the stocker...sell those and get a light flywheel. Bore the nozzle and a flow control valve...should be rippin... follow FP instructions for tuning...don't forget to change the carb jets to FP specifications.

What is the enlarged pump fitting? Also I dont know what the flow control valve is. Dude I dont know much about this stuff. I mean Im not an idiot, just very new to the sport. I have the wetpipe and installation kit and the R&D flame arrestors. I just need the SXR rippin for next summer. I need it to have the power for rolls and possibly backflips. Does anyone know a reputable mechanic that I can have do the work?

"Enlarged pump fitting" ....the 90° stock water fitting on the pump has an internal diameter that is too small for the wetpipe application. You need to change it to a true 1/4" NPT X 1/2" Barb fitting for proper cooling water flow.

Follow the FPP instructions from the website for rejetting the carbs and pipe tuning. The jetting is very close but I suggest a 2.0 needle seat assembly instead of the 1.5 (stock) recommended. This will make your throttle response instant.

Tragically, you'll never roll your SX-R on flatwater - blackflips either.

Such is life.

The TBM flywheel is a good deal on an excellent upgrade. Since it's total loss though, you'll always have to be ready to charge the ski after a day of riding. One of the absolute best bangs for the buck.

How can I not do a roll or flip on an SXR? I seen videos where they do them off of 2' boat wakes. I know everyone likes to hate on them and say buy a superjet, but There is always 4' wakes off of 50' cruisers where I live. I think with a little more power Ill get the roll. I made it halfway with a stock SXR on my 2nd try off a mediocre wake. Im halfway there lol

That's B.S. I have seen many modified sxr rolled on flatwater and one of the guys I ride with has rolled a stock motor sxr!! Talent can over come what you ride !!

I love the SX-R (I own 2) but they aren't built for rolling.

You'll need some huge boat wakes.

Please post a video some flatwater SX-R rolling. I would be interested how they got a setup wake that big.
