I agree. I can't speak from experience, but racing is something I really want to get into. Of course I'll always be a free rider, but hitting up the occasionally race would be fun. Too many people are into just one aspect of riding. I guess thats probably becuase they're pretty freakin good at what they do.

I guess for amateurs like myself we take to different kinds of riding easier because we are not exactly great at one kind of riding yet.

Exactly

.... Freestyle forever!!! But yeah I LOVE speed!! Who doesnt?

I don't think my ski is 'race' legal????

Dj, on a regional level you can run amature ski open class (Beginners ski class is also Open). Most race promoters will overlook the footholds etc because turnout is fairly low right now. You will have a problem in certain classes that are heavily contested. I started racing ski class for the first time last weekend. After riding and doing freeride and freestyle for the last few years, this is a whole new challenge. I found out that I completely suck as a racer but I won't suck for long :saevil:. Regardless, I had a big grin on my face the whole weekend. New challenges are great.

It's good to hit races, freeride events, etc every so often. To me its part of the lifestyle of Standup Jet Skiing. You meet new riders and help the sport grow and have the best times of your life.
