We will have the ability for online payment by the end of the week through paypal. Registration is $35 per ski on event days. Early registration is $25 per ski. Also, AWA members can register at any time for $25. More info will be on the site soon.

I just have to get it to our awesome webmaster :afro:

Nice Job on the FAQ section....I love this part...
Never stand between your ski and the beach! A wave will pick up your ski and drop it on your shin, your waist, or even your head and it will hurt
LOL

And you know it is going to happen! At least one v-hull coucher - those things are like guillotines when they get knocked around in the shorebreak

I have a question:

Where does everyone launch skis? Beach launches or beside an inlet or something, then ride out ocean front?

Also, what size crowds does you expect for the event riders+/- spectators?

Large couches will launch from Owls Creek Boat Ramp in Rudee Inlet. It's about a 20 min. ride through the no wake zone out to the ocean. Then, make a left turn & head north for about 9 blocks to the WaveDaze ride area. Small skis such as sjs, sxs, b1s, etc can launch directly from the beach. We are currently finalizing a plan that we will be announcing soon with details of a shuttle system to get your ski from your trailer directly to the surf for the weekend.

Still working details, but here is what we think the final plan is.

People will drop small skis (sj's b1's sx's etc) at a parking lot at 2nd st, we have atv's to tote the skis & your stuff up to the ride area. While we are transporting skis, you can park at 18th & Pacific. (we are trying to get a van so you won't have walk from there to the beach). ATV's will be available & manned all weekend to transport skis & whatever else around the ride area & back and forth from the 2nd st. lot. There will also be beach carts & you are welcome to bring your own beach cart as well. SKIS CAN ONLY BE BEACH LAUNCHED IN OUR RIDE AREA (9TH-14TH ST).

Tentatively, you can drop off your fuel containers @ 2nd st as well, we will mark them as yours with a wristband that we will wrap around the handle. We will store the cans in a large steel container (think trailer container). When you need to re-fuel, we will have an atv retrieve your gas can & we will have a fueling area set up on the beach & you can refuel there. We will return your gas can to our container for you. This is to keep the fire marshall happy. Not quite as convenient as Daytona, but we will make it as easy for you as possible. Also, if you give us a few minutes notice, we will get your gas to you that much faster. We should hear a definite answer as to whether this fuel plan is acceptable, but I believe this is way we will go...

Our friends at Sunrise Cycles & Watercraft will be manning the ATVs!

They have been a HUGE help!:headbang:

Quick question.....

Will I need a lanyard on my 650SX?

I would recommend one. I'm sure that VB's finest would appreciate it.:Banane26:

EDIT: if it wasn't originally equipped with one, you aren't required to have one by law. I rode for years without one, but am glad I have one now. especially in the surf!

Cool. Well, I will try to get one asap, but if I can't oh well. I normally ride in the surf without one anyways. Thanks alot cap'n!

Would you mind sharing with me which one you are using? I see you have a 550, so I guess you are using an aftermarket?

I would go ahead and order a pro design killswitch, but there are multiple part numbers, and I haven't seen a site that sells them that states which will work for open, and which will open for closed circuit switches. I guess I would need one for open, right?

I have a 750 conversion from an SS. When I converted it this past spring, I transferred all the 750 electrics too. Technically you don't need one, but I can tell you I was personally embarrassed after my ski got away from me after only about 10 minutes of riding in Daytona this year.:1244:

Kennay, you can just order the START/STOP faceplate off a K650 TS. It will bolt right on to your existing switch and has a lanyard adapter. I have this on both of my x2's and your sx has the same switch.
