It looks GREAT other than someone may have taken out the 701 and put a 650 in it maybe?? It happened to me years ago at a Michigan auction house.......after saving the pic and then zooming in it looks like I see a new base gasket and intake gaskets maybe? Someone has been all over it and in it...

61x-00 and 61x are the only numbers i see

That's good news. You have a 61x/61x 701 in your ski.

Not sure your riding style, or if you plan on modding your ski in any way, but you can do afew cheap things to improve handling.

Search up quick steer mod, here on the forms. All you have to do is move your steer cable mounting points, realign your steering ,and you will have considerable more 'throw' on your steering.

If you want to spend some money, I would check out a Factory B Pipe, Scoop intake grate, maybe shorting the pole. Tons of mods available for you ski.

Welcome to the X :)

Nice ski! I would find a OEM flame arrestor before even putting it in the water IMO...

I think I see a aftermarket stainless prop up its butt....nice!

Ya x2 on getting a stock flame arrestor in there before riding. I would NOT run that one.

I see turf over by the exhaust.... looks like someone might of had a b-pipe in there at once. Kind of worries me what that turf is trying to cover.... Look on the exhaust side of the ski for any holes or weak spots in the hull.

Definitely looks very clean from the outside. But the motor has been worked on.... alot. Does it run fine? The 2005 Superjet came stock with dual carbs and older SJ's came with the single carb (650's and first gen 701's). Some guys on here like to swap out the dual carbs for a bigger single carb. This is good for the right setup and big motor. Stock dual 38 carbs are usually regarded as best for 87% of setups.

Welcome to the forum. You have the best standup ever built, it has stood the test of time over and over again. Take some time to read in the tech section and familiarize yourself with everything. These skis run great stock or in your current forum. However, they really rip with a few mods! (it can wait)

Where did you find the ski?

Also, I wouldn't recommend sitting your hood on the hood seal (rubber gasket around engine bay). You could pinch it, and that rubber seal tends to have a memory ad wont sit straight anymore. Then you hood wont keep the water out, then your motor might suck in water and be ruined. Those hood seals are very expensive if you ruin it.

It also looks like you have an aftermarket electric bilge in the ski. Is there any switch up on the bars (on - off). I see the bilge outlet coming out on your tray.

I was wondering about the turf on the inside myself, but didnt think to much about it....out the outside of where the Turf is there is slight discoloration in the the Decal that looks like it might have bumped against something but no holes or cracks and the area feels solid.........Nothing on the bars other than the the Start/Stop.....and it runs fine as far as i can tell, i need to adjust the idle as it turns off when you not giving it gas

and I got the Ski off this Site from Kidcrowe on his way back from the Daytona Freeride

This is whats on the outside of where the Turf is

these are coming from the Bilge

How do i adjust the steering so that it is resting on the silver piece?(the other side rest on it, but this is as far as i can turn it this way)

Lol I guess the previous owner cut the bilge wires and took his $80 switch with him..... No problem, I would look for another switch and rewire the bilge up. Is the bilge glued down or on a metal plate? Alot of guys prefer the "rotary" 3 way switch from hot products. I like the toggle handle bar switch.... expensive and not as reliable but its personal preference. If you ride salt water get the rotary.

Steering cable looks a little messed up. The thicker piece should hook up to the metal clip..... (hard to explain). I took some quick pictures of my setup so you can compare. Might be hard to see.

Make sure you read stuff in the "Tech FAQ" section. Look up the Mikuni tuning manual here: http://www.x-h2o.com/threads/74013-Service-Manuals-%96-Parts-Catalogs-%96-Owners-Guides-%96-Wiring-Diagrams-%96-Software-etc for adjusting your carb. I wouldent worry about it a whole lot. When the ski is under "load" and in the water it will idle differently. Also make sure to not run your ski too long out of water, it can overheat!
