anyone have a pic of a elevated 2 ski rack that allows the entire bed to be used? thinking about doing this for the Daytona trip.

For a one time trip it wouldn't be that much different from my current setup. I was planning on doing it for the last year but decided to go with a trailer instead. Just make the cross members sit on top of the bed; just put something down to save the paint first or build a frame work up from the bottom to support the top platform.

Here is a link to my build thread on the Truck Rack; http://www.x-h2o.com/threads/61387&highlight=ski+rack+build

My original plan was to build a deck similar to my sled deck that was only as wide as the truck but it would also incorporate a set of tilting bunks and an extendable loading ramp and a winch system.

I've posted these several times before. There are two racks for the truck bed so you can out two skis in there, but the pics only show one. The ramp is made of 2x4 and rollerblade wheels. The ski slides off easily, and a little blip of the throttle gets it up into the bed on the boat ramp. A big blip of the throttle nails the toolbox on puts huge dents in it!!

The ramp doubles as a street luge....

Very ingenious and I like the teetering wheels but why not just back the truck all the way into the water?

I did two 550s in a F-150. Ran the tie down through the "eyes" in front of the skis and one over the handpoles with a piece of rubber between the two skis for a 1 hour trip, seemed to work fine.
