Do you guys leave the hood off when storing in the garage as to protect or not ruin the hood seal ?

And with a handle pole spring, to make it last longer, ( to not ruiing the spring) is it better to leave it standing up when story or tieing it down ?

right now i got the clip that make it stand up right so no weight is on the spring. ..

and the hood is off..the prior seller told me to leave the hood off but didnt know or if it makes a big difference to the seal. :hail: :hail:

thanks..

I leave the hoods off and the poles up. I have a couple hooks in the ceiling of the garage that I hang the hoods from I use the front hood hooks.

Leaving the hoods off cut down on the condensation in the engine compartment

i like to leave my pole up when storing so that my spring doesnt settle as much. i would get any moisture out of the hull before leaving the hood on. my friend left the hood on his sxr and there was some moisture in there.....now there is mold and rust everywhere.

I store a couple of my skis outside ( on the trailer) so I leave the hood propped open a couple of inches in the back so they can ventilate.

and the poles, I leave resting on the hoods, my springs are worn out anyways though.

i leave my hood off and pole up. i cover my engine compartment with a towel, otherwise it gets a ton of dust in there, even in my garage that i rarely have open. before i used to keep a towel over it, i went riding all day came home and took the engine cover off and a there was a live tree frog in the engine compartment. the thing must have had a crazy ride.

Always leave the hood off! Keeps the moisture and condensation out of motor, to hell with the hood seal...motors cost way more than a $100 seal!
