wow, 4# foam is really hard. I needed to remove some from a project I'm working on. it's really hard and really ridged. I bet 3# would be plenty strong.

I have never used that. The stuff I dug out of my roundnose felt very similar in structure to the 3lb stuff I put back in.

Havnt done the whole back of a ski with it. but I did use the three pound to reinforce behind my footholds and to make a mold. The three pound is still extremely hard.

Keep in mind that if you do not mix completely and the tempurature and humidity is not optimal, then the foam does not expand fully. Not to mention we are often filling the foam in an odd-shaped space which does not give it proper room to expand in all directions. When all that happens, your foam is more dense that what the can says. Just food for thought...

Oh, and I speak from experience... I figure the "4lb" foam in my hull is really like 6 to 8lbs. :frown: next time I'm gonna use 2lb and hope it comes out 4lb. when (incompletely) expanded.
